Portrayal of Beast and Man in Animals of Farthing Wood
When I wrote my required academic paper for my Bachelor's degree back in 2010, my chosen subject was The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann. This turned out to be quite interesting as the book is marketed for significantly older readers here, than it is in Dann's native Britain.
What I've looked at is how anthropomorphized the animals are, as well as to what extent their personalities correspond to stereotypes about their species, and how base and beastly most of the humans in the book are portrayed by contrast. I figured since the subject is anthropomorphism, someone might find it interesting.
While I normally try to post writing as .txt files so they can be read inline, for this one you'll have to open/download the PDF. Trust me, you don't want to read this inline, anyway.
