What is Patreon: Think of it like an ongoing Kickstarter. It's a new system that allows for readers of original online content to directly support the creators of the series they love. If you become a patron, you can choose any dollar amount (even just $1) to contribute each time a new update is posted.
You can also set a monthly budget for your donations: if you want to donate $5 a page, but set your cap at $10, it will only apply to the first two content updates each month. There are also both individual rewards and overall milestones (cumulative of all donors combined), so becoming a patron carries a lot of incentives!
For Peter & Company, I have set several levels of rewards for individual pledge amounts:
For at least $5: You will be granted access to the P&C Pledge Sketch Club! Throughout each month I will schedule a number of special Livestreams where I will draw free sketches for members of this group. Simply show up to the stream, tell me what you want me to draw, and I'll make it happen (within limits).
For at least $10: The $5 tier reward, and also receive a signed and sketched copy of the first Peter & Company book collection!
For at least $20: The $10 tier rewards, plus a signed & sketched copy of the upcoming second P&C book, "Of Cats and Crushes."
For at least $30: The $20 tier, plus a special collector's edition of the upcoming Peter & Company Bible, an in depth behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming animated series. Includes a wealth of character art, series notes, and details on the process of moving from comics to animation.
By pledging as a patron to Peter and Company, you will be contributing to both the comic and the future animated series. The more funds we can raise for the series' budget, the better quality we will be able to make the pilot episode and the greater chance we have of delivering a successful pitch. Individual comic updates will continue even after the animated series is launched, and will be posted to the official site regularly on Mondays.
Regardless of whether or not you are able to pledge, I would like to thank everyone who has been following and enjoying Peter & Company over the years. Whitney and I have been completely blown away by the level of kindness and support we've received from everyone, especially these past few months. You guys are simply the greatest people in the world to us!
