Akomachi, or Ako-Chan to her companions, is a mystical fox spirit who inherited her name from one of the first foxes to be chosen by Inari-no-Kami as his messengers. Her ancestor and namesake slept in a shrine to Inari along with her lover, Osusuki, and the god smiled on them and blessed them. Although not a white fox like her namesake, Ako has taken the mystical oaths of her ancestor upon herself, and they grant her power and knowledge. It is up to her to learn wisdom, though, and she must earn the respect of the elders before she can become queen.
