“Somepony to Watch Over Me” - LIVE sung (parody of “Someone to Watch Over Me”)

This coming weekend airs an episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Season 4 called “Somepony to Watch Over Me.” And since I've been working the original Gershwin tune, “Someone to Watch Over Me” into my live set, I thought it would be fun to record a little, MLP-themed parody!

Yes, there are a couple places at the end where I sang louder than the system could handle, (“clipping” to the audio-tech-savvy crowd,) but since it took about 12 tries to get this one-take recording where I remembered to sing the “ponified” lyrics _and_ didn't flub too many notes, I figured, “What the hey, it's a live recording only for fun.” :P

*smiles encouragingly* In my experience, with practice and faith, amazing things can happen. It may take years to reach your dreams, but Gods willing those years will pass anyway.
After all… in my past life, this used to be my normal speaking voice:

I've come to believe in miracles.

*nodnods* Yeah... that's that "clipping" I mentioned above... It's frustrating, but then again, it's kind-of cool... I mean, one time I put a decibel meter about 7' away from me and sang with my soprano opera voice and it pegged over 100 db. O.o
Aaaah well... ...The song was just for fun, so I figured, "What the hay."

Oh yeah...so that's what you do when you record. Not to mention the equipment; no wonder I have a hard time using my one ball of a mic!
But even the way you pronunciate with your mouth to get some of those sounds out...I should really start to do that.
And I also totally...hate...clipping; even when I move my mic away, I get too loud!
A fantastic job well done as a live one-taker. You inspire me to one day throw myself out there too and record a video/audio combo.

*dips her muzzle in thanks* wrooo... Thank you so much, my friend!
Normallly, I record in the closet... but that's a little less photogenic than the bathroom, so... :P
*purrrrrs* I've heard singing described as "making love with the music"... and I _so_ much feel that when I'm singing something I love!
