Random CnC Funfact! (Possibly drawn spontaneously from my screwed up mind.)
Of all the uses craftsmen have found for the Gum drawn from trees, flavoring and eating it has never crossed anyone's mind. The phrase 'kick ass and chew bubblegum' is thus encountered instead as 'kick ass and chew jerky', usually referring to Basilisk jerky, which is incredibly tough but can support a marching soldier for days on a single strip thanks to it's high nutritional value; although it can do little for the feeling of an empty gut.

Bonus CnC Funfact!
Basilisks in the world of CnC don't paralyze people by sight, although that's the rumor. It's true that seeing one looking at you is a scary occurrence and often inflicts fear paralysis on the individual (wherein they're too scared to move), but it's the Basilisk's venom that causes the paralysis. From an adult Basilisk, a bite's effects can last anything up to a week - more than long enough for the creature to drag you back to it's den and turn you into a few day's worth of lunches.
It's the same venom that Red uses (or rather, a diluted version of) in his pawbow darts - in the dosage his darts carry, the effects last only for a few hours, but in higher doses, there's the potential for the paralysis to affect internal organs or bodily functions as well, causing inevitable death, which Red would rather avoid. After all - a dead man has nothing else to steal ;)

I know pretty well of the first two... Tyr and Dread Skull are always on that... The Zar had a backup plan until Cobalt Daze showed up and literally became something unexpected in the battle... Then again, Fennel is in the third group... he's a slave lord! he has never been punished! How could he lose?... oh right! Draco Nidhoggson ate him up while being possessed by a prince of hell haha... but yea, I got your point
