The title really says it all, this is my EDC (Every Day Carry) stuff that I have in my pockets or on my belt. Pretty basic stuff really and while it might look like a lot it isn;t really once you get used to it. Especially when you consider that most of the large items will be clipped to my belt and not in my pockets. The only thing that gets heavy is the pistol and I will be honest when i say that I am looking around for something to replace Zeta in my EDC the weight isn't bad but it makes it hard to go to the bathroom *chuckle*
I will also be doing a follow up to this with my EDC Bag, that will be a little later however because I plan on replacing the bag itself some time soon.
But onto my list, starting left and going right:
-5.11 Tactical Operator's Belt, Got this as a christmas gift from my old man, very good belt, but nothing to write home about in comparison to the others I have had over the years,
-Car keys, well that is pretty self explanatory, the small flashlight is there because i got it for free and didn't have anywhere else to put it. Usually have a pipe packing and cleaning tool on there as well but took it off to use it then lost it *chuckle*
-Cell Phone, IPhone 4S with the Otter Box, that needs to be replaced because the soft rubber is torn and the hard plastic of the box is cracked, saved my phone, love otter boxes.
-Blackhawk single stack mag carrier, depending on which pistol I am carrying this may be a double stack but pretty basic. It holds the mags and it gives me extra rounds if I need them.
-Leatherman PST-II, basic 9 piece multi-tool, works good and fits very nicely in it's holster, a little heavy but I have had no reason to replace it as of yet and it is reliable as a rock (US made by the way so an older one).
-Benchmade Griptilion, A friend gave me this knife, I am not usually a fan of serrations but these i have taken a liking to especially when I am cutting cardboard or something like that, put the zip tie on there for easier opening and will be having a new edge put on it at some point soon.
-Defiant Pen Light, cheap, reliable and bright enough for most things. I really like this flashlight because of how easily it slips into and out of the pocket, it's strait profile means it doesn't catch on things and it's very light. I will probably be upgrading to a Streamlight soon but it works great for now.
-Pen, I am not gonna list a brand because I carry so many different types and brands that it really doesn't matter which one I showed here.
-Spec Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr. great wallet, works very good and has plenty of space.
-Surefire Ear pro, Something I keep on me jut in case I get the chance to use them, When I'm working in the machine shop or going to school (also a machine shop) I like to keep them in to save my hearing. I also keep them on me just in case I get a chance to put them in before a self defense situation, gun shots are rather loud and my 357 sig is louder than most.
-Xikar V-cut, Great cutter, the best one I have ever owned! if you want a cigar cutter that will do it's job and isn't a bank breaker then this is the one.
-Xikar 2 jet lighter, This is a basic Xikar, nothing too fancy, love it cause of the large reservoir and gets nice and hot, i like a fire starter on me at all times just in case the truck gets stuck or something, i don't have to dig into the survival bag to make a fire or anything. Also I like my cigars so yea i need something to light them with *chuckle*
-Gorilla Drive, 14gb hard drive, nothing special but the gorillas are very tough. Lets me get files from school or from a customer if they have something they want me to see, or friends or whatever, thank you NutnFancy for tipping me off to this idea.
-BCH Products Custom Holster, was made for Delta but fits all my sig pistols and even Epsilon as well, very comfortable with a leather back, I will probably get myself one made for Zeta at some point, slim it down as much as I can and maybe even do one for whatever pistol I replace Zeta with. But that is in the future, probably far future.
Things in my EDC change from time to time so consider this a snapshot in time, I may add somethings or take some away if there is call, but self defense is all about the 4 rules.
1. You have to be ready
2. You have to be trained
3. You have to be willing
4. You have to be aware
I will probably post up a journal which will go into detail what all that means, but for now just put after the rules "to defend yourself" and it comes clear i think.
As everyone knows i am always open to messages, PMs or emails. I am happy to give my opinion on anything *chuckle* but it is just that, everyone has different needs in their self defense system and my system might not be correct for everyone.
