This is the version that has "inaccurate" colors. I originally drew it with much duller colors, which can be seen in the above link. However, I ended up liking it this way more. Sometimes mistakes are good.
My inspiration for this creature was... Pokémon and fantasy books I read as a child. By no means was the whole piece supposed to be finished the same way... I wanted the creature to be the most finished part, and various "styles." That's what makes it relate to all the books I read as a child.
