I can't even remember how many times my friends tried to force me to speak to a girl I liked, only to have me completely disappear at the moment of truth. I had a natural talent of finding the quickest path through a crowded hallway at school (or through a playground, or other such public area), especially if it was in the opposite direction of a certain someone.

Bravery was definitely not one of my strengths as a child.
