Take a Chrysler coupe' chassis. Slap an Imperial nose and a Windsor tail on it, put that high-tech Hemispheric engine under the hood, and voila'! The C300! Of course, you'll have to wait until '55 to do that, but still.
I cannot recall when Chrysler finished their postwar retooling, although I know Ford got out the first brand-new American cars with their own '49s.
