I'm not too knowledgeable on the series myself. Only played and beaten 1 (DoS) and 10. I may have touched a bit on some of the other titles, but not all that much. I do remember reading something a while back about the idea of including a disabled protagonist, but...I think it said there's some possible controversy behind the idea or something. Don't quote me on that, though.
Pbth. :P
Who made my final team? Yuna, because of her broken summoning, Riku, because of her speed and easy-to-max pathing through Tidus' sphere, and Lulu, because magic.
Where Kimahri started in the sphere grid was, quite frankly, an insult. He had nothing special about him. :\ ...which, honestly is in theme, because he was effectively a mimic/blue-mage, and I normally love those concepts. I actually ended up running him through Wakka's area for status junkie nonsense, while the goofy redhead became my secondary/underwater healer.
Maybe it's just availability heuristic, but beast-people's in RPGs are underperformers. Red XIII in FF7, Duga in Shining Force EXA, Kimahri... I suppose I should be happy that the Breath of Fire series has a ton of beast races, so it doesn't matter as much. :3

But isn't Kimahrii also the closest to the spell, Ultima? even though we needed a lv4 sphere to get to it? :( and Besides, that's kinda what makes Kimahri special, the player was allowed to give Kimahrii whichever path that the player thought best for him. And C'mon, everyone in FFX was a freaking Blue Mage. XD
FF10 made it so that Magic becomes incredibly weak, compared to physical damage, once you max them out. You can have 255 Magic, Magic Booster, Magic +30%, Magic + 20%, Break Damage Limit, Double Cast, +5 Focus, and Ultima... and still not do as much damage as a single Celestial Weapon hit at 255 Strength. That's why I'd say Lulu was more useless than Kimahri. The most unique thing about her was her Onion Knight.. and if you had the patience to dodge 200 lightning bolts like I did, you'd be able to have 150% stronger magic at 2MP per cost (and it doesn't even affect her Fury Overdrive)
Kimahri's "Nova" Overdrive, despite being a magical attack, follows the physical formula... so it can do a lot of damage at only ~60 Magic (and it ignores Magic Defense). Also, ALLEGEDLY, Nova deals more than 99999 damage in the International Version, so a Nova hit can do about 2 million damage if his Magic is maxed. So really, Lulu was kind of more useless than him. I never understood why they make the Magic formulas exponentially less than the Physical damage in the Final fantasy saga.. but yeah.
It was also kind of the point not to give him a particular sphere grid. My only complaint is that they made Blue Magic his Overdrive, and not a special attack.
At any rate, I'm playing a Kimahri only game. It's helped me appreciate things about him that I wouldn't have before.

Hee, someone munchkin'd the crap out of that game, huh? :P
I did notice that Ultima was pretty worthless, in the end. Yuna spam-blasting Holy did much more for me, and her ultimate weapon was easy to get.
I didn't have the patience for Lulu's, so I just built her 1 MP, Magic Booster weapon on my own. To think of it, I think between those stupid butterflies and the lightning dodger, I never bothered to get either of their ultimates, and Kimahri's wasn't that great anyway.
Hm, maybe I should make my own RPG, where all the beast men are awesome and Token Human Guy is the one that sucks. (...then again, the FF universe already has Gau, so...)

And when they're not under-performers, they're over-achievers. Zylo from Shining Force? Once upgraded to a Wolf Baron and gains some levels he nearly 1-hit KO's the majority of enemies. Zachs from Shining Soul II? A Lv7 charged knife attack can defeat the final boss on Advanced mode with a single use.
It isn't a joke, Sergio. Being just over a week from launch, it even has a review: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/03/.....emaster-review
Well it also includes the international content. (I think for both games? I know it does for X but not sure about X-2) So it's a bit more than just upgraded graphics. They also completely remastered the soundtrack, which I'm actually not quite sure how I feel about honestly. I loved the music in the first game so getting used to the same music sounding differently could be difficult :X
really?
cause he makes this guy look more subtle
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU)
and he's nowhere near as cool as Queen or Pink Floyd

except for YuGiOh and this one guy from a PS2 game who is supposed to be based on and has the same name as a famous samurai....but has a huge spike of hair that looks so heavy and uncomfortable, which is nowhere near as badass as actual samurai.
in the end a bunch of weird hair doesn't create a personality, you need more like what some of the other FF characters did. Plus a simple design can be iconic, e.g. Indiana Jones or Darth Vader

devastating little imp-like monsters carrying a lantern and a dagger. kinda like the assassins of final fantasy. enemies you don't want to fight for too long. lol

The texture of his fur and the detail on his attire is downright excellent. You did a fantastic job with this character.
I'm hoping to play the HD Remasters, but I need a PS3 first. I do need to use him more, since I didn't exactly use him too much in X compared to everyone else...I think. I can't remember. XP

Kimahri Ronso is one of the best characters to be created in the Final Fantasy series. Despite he didn't talk much and he was a rather feral fellow. He made up for his lack of words with actions. For example, he kept running wildly to Yuna's side, pushing himself to protect her at all costs throughout the story, and he somehow had this ability to, adapt to situations perfectly.
*grabby paws* yes...all the yes...forever. In spite being silent and rather feral, he was one of the best characters in the series. He always made up his lack of vocabulary with actions even in X-2 where he's a little more, let's say, "sissified" for being a pacifist and showing the young rage filled ronso that violence is never the answer. Just an absolutely awesome character all around.
