Wanted to do a really quick sketch of Pierce making a point, in his own way, that he's NOT a bat. XD He thinks it's an insult to be compared to something so tiny and "pathetic" (HIS WORDS, NOT MINE!).
Lots and lots of people think he's a bat, either part bat or an anthro bat somehow.
Sorry guys, he's not. He's a primate. :P
Yes, he has membrane wings, but that doesn't have to be JUST for bats. Look at dragons! lol!
I think the only time I really become annoyed about it is when people draw his ears in a bat style. NO, LOOK AT HIS REFS. HE DOESN'T HAVE RIDGES IN HIS EARS LIKE A BAT. STOP THAT.
I should do a picture of were Pierce comparing to a wolf, too. HE'S NOT A WOLF BEAST. NO NO NO LOOK AT THAT NOSE. IS THAT A WOLF NOSE? NO. NO WOLF EARS, EITHER. AHHHHH. He's still a primate, and mostly based off of baboons. >8C
oh, and that is a random bat I drew. No specific species. lol...

I have to admit that I've kind of mistaken him for a bat myself v3v I think it's because you love bats and I just kind of assumed he was... course trust me I know how that's annoying XD People like to call my guy a fox, not a fox!

Pierce, you are like a bat because you are both mammals. But other than that...well, I mean there are similarities, but different enough I can't understand why people would think he was an anthro of some sort.
Also, care to give an example of what you mean by the ear thing? I'm wondering if perhaps I've been drawing long ears wrong.

Honestly I thought he was a bat demon as you previously called them, so I assumed he was a bat due to that

That was my problem/fault. xD Though it works, too, since humans in his own world think he's an actual bat and demon. THEM HUMANS RUINED IT.
But then again he only knows of himself called as a "bat demon". He didn't know that "bat" and "demon" meant two different things. lol sometime in the story this will pop up.
SOOOOOOOOOooooooo this is why I had to give his species an actual name, as well as make this picture. xD Even my group on DA says "bat demons" but under it it says "not a bat nor a demon". lol. It's like a slogan. ahahaha

But how do you compare a -real- bat next to a fictional character ? :P
Why not use a fictional character bat and have it the same size as Pierce ? He might think more of them !
I guess that kills the joke though so it wouldn't be as funny. Sorry, I like to rain on people's parade's every now and then :D
