Eh, just trying some techniques for digital painting.
When I put them to use, it helps me define where I need to work most.
Also really helps to understand color better.

I agree with you... Color is tough.
My general problem is the palette I choose sometimes. The colors tend to bend with the background or other colors -for me while working-, and force me to apply darker/lighter tones, making the picture look odd. Forced, so to say.
An example would be my very icon.
Had a terrible time trying to get a nice orange. Ended up with one too dark.
Then after the transition, the green lines were supposed to be brighter. No, they ended up being almost forest-green.
This happens only in digital though.
It's been a while since I tried any traditional coloring, due to the lack of proper color pencils. They are A)Bad quality B) Too expensive C) Difficult to find around here nowadays.
---Anyways, back to you.
This looks wonderful. Great composition between the tones, and they create a great resonance together (if that has any sense) making a great sense of lightning. A warm feeling of colors.
-I apologize in advance if this has no meaning at all. At the end, just wanted to say that this is stunning, and really well done
