Maeteans (pronouced Mah-Yet-A-Yen) are the Emetean's 'evil' cousins. They have a more sinister, muted color scheme and their heads superficially resemble more of a skull. They're not necessarily evil, but they're usually not as sunshine and rainbows as the Emeteans, typically they're rather a bit more melancholy, sometimes mean, othertimes just reserved, but they usually look like they're up to no good.
This guy here is a doctor, who does research on plagues... by digging up bodies of plague victims from the nearby town and doing research on them in the basement of his creepy tower.
