WELL, GOOD TIME TO SHOW THIS, TOO!

There have been people who say that Pierce looks like a werewolf or a wolf-beast. NO, HE'S NOT! The only similarities I see are the black ridges of the mouth and black around the eyes. THAT'S IT!
Pierce's head shape, for the most part, is like a baboon, as it's shown here. The eyes aren't in the same place, but that's also because he's not a baboon, either, but is related! He's a primate! He's not related to a wolf at all.
So I dunno why people think he's a wolf in some way. I do become happy when people can tell that he's based on a baboon, too.
He even has baboon-like teeth! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/12059397/ though still different.
Any time someone relates him to a wolf, I'll just link them to this piece. XD
At least the bat one makes more sense because I trick people in calling him a "bat demon". But I've never said he's a wolf!
Also, I've noticed that those who say they are wolf lovers seem to think many dogs are wolves, too. PLEASE STUDY THE ANIMAL YOU SAY YOU LOVE. Don't be ignorant about the animal you say you know a lot about. >8C

Ok now that I'm done with that, seriously drives me nuts when people don't do that >_< or even the ones that don't bother trying other animals for character designs, so many fascinating ones!

I always saw him more leaning towards primates myself; especially with the construction of his face in wereform.
I can definitely see the similarity of him being closer to a baboon than a wolf.

It surprises me that people read into your artwork so much Shorty. Pierce is your character, so why would anyone try to tell you he is a wolf or a werewolf when he obviously is not?
I never got that vibe from him at all. I didn't notice the baboon part until the bat pic though. I just thought he was cool because... he is cool! It's not my business to tell you stuff about your own characters/artwork. I'm just glad you don't mind sharing your art with us.

I feel like it's mainly from people who just stumbled across him, and from looks alone they think he's some type of wolf thing. That just tells me they don't know much about wolves OR they think any kind of beast with fur is related to a wolf, which is dumb. sdkhgkjdlkasjdhlak
Truthfully, even though I do totally see the baboon thing, 'cause of the original nickname/insult for them, I saw the nose as bat-like. There's SOME kind of bat (I can't remember which) that has a nose very like were Pierce's. I wish I could show you e.e

its the problem with the term "were" technically it does by definition refer to wolves (i think, its early morning though so sometimes my history is iffy)
But in modern times (just like the loose of the real weaknesses of Werewolves in general) people connect the word were with wolves. People in more fantasy based communities will conversely connect it with the ability to take a larger or more feral form either by choice moon phases or curse.
Long story short peps likely say wolf cause its an assumption. I have met people that will repeatedly do a project the way they are told even if they see it visually failing. I feel it fits this too, they see were and assume wolf when the creature clearly does not resemble one.
