First off, Artwork is by HaloPromise!
The RI Furbowl Group is coming up on its 25th monthly bowling meet which will also mark its second anniversary. After the awesomeness that was massfurbowl massfurbowl's own 25th bowling event and party back in January and with their assistance and blessing, I am proud to announce that Rhode Island Furbowl 25 will also feature bowling and a post-game dinner and dance party.
The date of the event will be Saturday, April 12. At 1 p.m., it will be at the regular bowling alley in East Providence for about three hours. At about 4 p.m., we will then move over to a nearby hotel in Pawtucket. A buffet dinner is planned for 6 p.m., and then music and a dance party will last until midnight.
The registration fee for everything (bowling, dinner and dance) is $25. Details are below, but basically, you can register for this event through a form linked in this announcement and pay through PayPal or in cash on-site if you can't use PayPal.
---
BOWLING - EAST PROVIDENCE LANES, EAST PROVIDENCE, 1 p.m.
The bowling alley is East Providence Lanes at 80 Newport Avenue, East Providence, RI. (MAP IS HERE) The building is in the corner a shopping plaza with a very visible McDonald's in the parking lot.
The bowling lanes are all standard ten-pin bowling. There is no duckpin or candlepin bowling here.
When you enter, please head to the left side of the lanes. We will have access to a party room and our own corner of the building with our assigned lanes. Bowling leagues should be ending by the time we arrive, so it may be crowded getting in.
We will have a registration line so you can sign in based on the information you provided through the online form. If you can not use PayPal, then we will accept cash at the door. If you had not registered at all, we will have sign-in sheets available and you must pay cash right there. We will NOT accept checks, credit cards or debit cards. Badges will be made available for attendees and they must be worn at all times.
The party room is an open space and has over time become a social gathering place. However, it also doubles as our fursuit changing area and break room. Therefore, there will be no privacy for fursuiters, and attendees must be respectful of the property left behind by others. Fursuits are welcome in the alley and on the lanes, however, I advise that you do NOT first enter the alley in costume. Please change up inside the building and then you can go outside. Ears, tails, collars and fursuits are welcome.
No outside food is allowed in the alley, but there is a concession stand. Any food or drink you purchase comes out of your own pocket. There is a bar at the alley and all standard Rhode Island alcohol consumption laws are in effect. Underage drinking is not allowed and do not buy drinks for those who are underage. If you do drink, please do so in moderation.
As always, please be on your best behavior and use common sense. We will have a very large and noticeable group there. There will be families and children present. Please be courteous to the other guests of the alley and do not interfere with their own parties and games. You are representing the Furry Fandom while you are there. The Code of Conduct is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3321444/

HOTEL - COMFORT INN, PAWTUCKET, 4 p.m.
At about 4 p.m., we will head to a nearby hotel for the dinner and dance: Comfort Inn at 2 George Street, Pawtucket, RI. (MAP IS HERE) It is located right next to I-95. Their phone number is 401-723-6700.
DIRECTIONS from the alley to the hotel: https://goo.gl/maps/ubSrr It is about a 10-minute drive.
The hotel is attached to a pub called Murphy's Law. Please do NOT park in front of the pub. Those spaces are set aside for their regular patrons. Please park on either side of the hotel or towards the back and then walk to the hotel entrance.
There is a room block set up with 20 rooms and it is open right now. They all have two Queen-size beds and are non-smoking rooms. The special room rate is $90 for double occupancy plus 13% tax ($101.70). If there is a third or fourth person in the same room, then each person adds an extra $10 to the rate, so for three people, it is worth $113.00, and for four people, it is $124.30. Initial payment must be with a credit card. When you call the hotel, tell them that you are part of the "RI Furbowl" block so you can get the special rate. These rooms are only available until April 5.
All attendees must abide by the rules and regulations of the hotel while on property. Do not hold any loud parties in your room or they will ask you to be quiet or else you will be asked to leave by the hotel staff. Do not have more than four people in your room. Food and beverages from outside the hotel are allowed in your room, however, any food or beverages from our banquet room must stay in the banquet room. (I would suggest that you ask for a mini-fridge when booking your room.) Please clean up after yourselves.
---
DINNER - COMFORT INN/MURPHY'S LAW, PAWTUCKET, 6 p.m.
A buffet dinner will begin in the hotel at about 6 p.m. The spread will include a variety gourmet pizzas supplied by the pub and restaurant next door, Murphy's Law. You will also be served salad, soda, tea, coffee (regular and decaf), cookies and brownies. If you wish, you may ask for a dinner menu and the staff will cook something for you instead. If you have any dietary issues or food allergies, please let us know in the Comments section of the online registration form as soon as possible. The restaurant would be happy to accommodate your request.
Food and drinks from the banquet room must stay in the banquet room, and outside food and drinks must stay outside the banquet room. You may bring outside food to your hotel room instead.
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the banquet room. If you wish, you may walk over to the pub to have a drink next door, but your drinks must stay in the pub and not in our banquet room or your hotel room. You may buy outside alcohol, but it can only go to your hotel room. All standard Rhode Island alcohol consumption laws are in effect. The pub will card everyone. Underage drinking is not allowed and do not buy drinks for those who are underage. If you do drink, please do so in moderation.
Fursuits are only permitted from your hotel room to the event room and also inside the event room. Fursuits are not allowed in Murphy's law for any reason. Murphy's Law is a private establishment and you are subject to their rules while you are in there. The regular Saturday night crowd will be in attendance with their own entertainment.
---
DANCE PARTY - COMFORT INN, PAWTUCKET, until midnight
After the dinner, a dance party will begin in the same room. I currently have drahckwolf
and nevinfox
as DJs for the night. If anyone else wishes to volunteer, please contact me. We are planning to end the party at about midnight and would appreciate it if people stayed behind to help break down the equipment.
Fursuits are allowed. Be aware that the room's lights will be off, but we have our own lighting equipment. Currently, we are planning to either set up a makeshift area as a headless fursuit lounge or if it becomes available, a small adjoining room could be the lounge. We may need people to donate electric fans. I'll keep you updated on that.
People may come and go into the room as they please. You must have your badges on you at all times. As mentioned before, outside food and beverages are not allowed in the room.
The pub next door will have their regular Saturday night crowd with their own entertainment and music. You may choose to walk over there, but I strongly advise that you do not go in fursuit. Murphy's Law is a private establishment and you are subject to their rules while you are in there.
