This week's installment in my Tutorial Tuesdays series is a straightforward write up on sewing straps to fur to secure it to the wearer. I'm using nylon here, but elastic can also be used the very same way. You can do this to most any head that isn't fully padded on the inside, so this can be used to retrofit heads that are too loose in conjunction with my padding tutorial.
Also, while I have your attention, I'm going to ask one last time: What tutorials would you really love to see, if you could be a fly on the wall during production of a suit? I'm getting ready to work on a batch of new tutorials in the near future, and I'd prefer to focus on what people want to see most. NO HOLDS BARRED! Even things I've refused in the past (like patterning) I'm seriously considering if people show enough interest.

That's actually a high priority for me now that I've grown really happy with my paint jobs with eyes. For a while, I considered that aspect the most trying process in the whole build, because the eyes are the first thing you look at on a suit, and if they're bad they can ruin a whole suit's look.
Score! I see so many people say "it's hard to do" and whatnot, but not a lot of good tuts out there on HOW to do it, lol. Btw, I love you forever for all these fantastic tutorials you share. I know how much work doing something like that can do and how much it can affect your work pace, so thanks a million for being kind enough to share this information with the community!
Just as a little note here, since these are aimed at beginners- keeping your needle shallow means getting at least 4-5 fibres under it. If you attach the strap to a single fibre of backing it will rip almost immediately and you'll be needing some glue and a hot cup of tea to fix it XD
I usually adhere straps to the resin base itself, do you have a reason you prefer doing it to the fur?

Good tip! I tried to show that in the images, but there's only so much you can jam onto a little square image like this without it getting illegible and unclear.
I attach them to the fur because it's just more convenient for me while I'm building, but really I wanted this tutorial to be helpful for retrofitting loose heads too and I wouldn't expect people to feel comfortable peeling up their fur to E6000 to the base or trying to dremel in slots to run them through.
