Lawl, reminds me of my first Con, except I was able to hide from all the freaks. I can't go to a fur con without feeling some form of embarrassment or shame the first few hours of going there. XD Seeing 30+ year old guys that are baling, overweight, and in skin tight spandex tiger suit with face paint upon as I walked into the con space will never leave me. But this all was at a small con, up at Atlanta, GA, I totally know AC is 20 times larger, more insane, and many tell me, not a good place to go for your first con. x3 I totally wish I could go, to meet the Link if she be there, but seems my rides convenient lost contact with me again, and no one I know can handle an extra roommate. But in defense of cons, so long as you got friends there to hang with and avoid the creepy freaks, which AC has an abundance of, you are relatively safe. x3

Yeah... my first con was small like yours and pretty alright for the most part... except it was mostly gay ment here and I was hit on a bit... by gay men, and there were a few creepy old men too. WTF fandom... All and all it was alright though and I have a good time. AC should be a blast though. Second con I went to was MFF and I had a good enough time there, met some cool people and made a few friends. This third one coming up would probably be most to my liking.

Yeah, I never thought my moderate skill at hide in plain sight (Lawl, D&D reference) that has been such a downfall in normal life would be an asset elsewhere. I get told how cute and sexy I am all the time online, but RL furs used to really freak me out. Namely fruiters, suit's freak me the fuck out, about as much as they do Link. x3 Oh my gawd, I still remember my first, went to turn a corner to walk into a room, and a like 7 foot tall fur suiter comes walking out, and almost bumps into me, and I think I almost wet myself a bit in terror. XD There where plenty of creepy people at the con though, though most people at FWA are cool, it's more of a raver/goth/punk/metal head group than creepy people. Still, I noticed really only the freaks mainly get to the cons early, cause all you see are people in spandex and walking around in paints and dressed up in ears and tails and crap.
As much as that sucks, sorta glad, cause I want to be there to see the utter fear on Link's face when she sees a hoard of shambling fur suiters walking around her and trying to hug her and stuff. x3 I had 3 years myself to deal with the fear to just a paranoia, but I got hugged by a suiter at FWA 08 randomly, and I was paralyzed with confusion and a bit of fear at that. =P

I have never been therefor I have no opinion. =3 But FWA is totally one of the best fur cons, for it's smallness and lack of baby furs and amount of fun things like booze and drugs are around. XD Last year, some people had absinthe they where sharing with a select few people, and another room had acid they where giving out to people in a room. Sadly, there was no noticeable weed around, and not sure about shrooms. I'd not be surprised if some people had some extacy too since there is a room where every night of the con, there is a rave. x3 And at least the water is free at the FWA raves. XD
