PRINTS FOR SALE: http://thornwolf.storenvy.com
**NOTE** Hi! I'm still uploading periodically. I've decided that I will continue to post my personal art here from time to time since that's ultimately what I wanted this site to be since I joined, just a gallery page to showcase my ideas but without folders it got pretty messy over the years and I didn't care for the disorganization. You can see ALL of my artwork, sketches, commissions, etc. is all available, by category, on Weasyl:

Now, to the art! This piece of artwork was made possible by kind folks who donated to my "ongoing online tip jar" called Patreon, which can be found here: www.patreon.com/Thornwolf
Because commissions are currently my sole means of earning a living, I don't get to explore my own ideas, such as this image, because I cannot justify the time and must focus all of my artistic energy on work/commissions. Kind people donated to me so I could afford to take the time to create this personal piece inspired by my own ideas, and I'm extremely grateful!
I've been wanting to be bolder with my watercolor artwork for awhile. I primarily work with a combination of watercolor and colored pencil, but for this painting, I really had to force myself to not reach for the colored pencils to bring out the shadows. This is completely watercolor with only the slightest hints of white gouache. Most of the glowing elements were created by masking off select areas, so that's the white paper peeking through.
Want to see more work like this or just want to support my artistic efforts? For as little as $1 per new piece of content I create, you'll get access to pieces like this, with tiered rewards for bigger donations, including steep discounts on private commissions. This is a great idea and I'm happy more artists and their fans are able to connect in this way! I've previously done "sponsorships" but that relied solely on one person's large contribution, but this allows fans of my art to give me a little tip and still get a little something back for their generosity.

This reminds me of Snow. It's quite impressive! I wish I were in the position just to commission you to draw whatever you wanted. That'd be fitting considering your situation. You're the cliched starving artist, eh? I just want you to be able to draw what you want for yourself.
Thank you! Actually I had her top in mind when I was painting this XD That's the beauty about Patreon though, folks who wouldn't normally be able to commission me can toss me a couple of bucks to basically "crowd fund" me to draw what I want, and that's how I was able to complete this piece, through the patronage of not one, but many folks. It's quite a cool thing!
