After establishing a reputation on building race cars and WWI aircraft engines and such innovations as four wheel brakes and the first straight 8 engines in a production car, Isotta-Fraschini set out to build the most luxurious car in the world. The 8A was introduced in 1924 built with a 7.3L, 130hp engine that the company claimed would propel it to nearly 95MPH. The S in the name stood for "spinto" a term used to characterize the voice of an opera singer capable of handling dramatic musical climaxes.

Once a casualty of a fire at Franchi's home, the car went through a extensive restoration earning an invitation to the Concourse d Elegance at Pebble Beach where it took third in class honors.

This and many vintage cars were on display at the KC auto show in the KC vintage car club area.
