Devon Helsing is the current Dark Kat. Since the 1880's his family line has always been Dark Kat. This curse only effects one male at a time. If a Dark Kat is killed the next in line takes the curse on. If no male of age is available the curse lays in hibernation until one is. No one can 'not' be Dark Kat. It will always happen.

Dark Kat's appearance is standard for the Era. Some of the more 'Elder' Dark Kats in past times has chosen the same appearance. (Black cape with trim, grey robe.) But they have the ability to alter the appearance to their choosing within specific limits.

Devon is a tattoo artist who uses his shop as a laundry service for the money he gets from his criminal contracts.
