I really like this. Very nice.
Two crits;
One, instead of waterproof ink (I'm guessing you are using higgins?) use...shit, Dr. Martin's ink I think it's called, or black Plakka. Or Gouache. :3 That way, your whole image remains much more matte so you dont get the shiney blue atmosphere thing that is happening nearing the top of the image. It also helps if you leave the cap off of your ink to let a little bit of the suspension evaporate out of the ink, so it gets a bit thicker. I say this only because it was passed down to me via http://www.yukoart.com/news/index.html, and I think she sorta reigns supreme over the whole ink thing X3
And secondly..obviously the reflection on the top of the image has to do with the slight gloss to the ink and the raised paper, but I'm curious if you used flash photography to get this on the 'net. Photographing work is a biiiitch, and in the future I'd reccomend using an umbrella to sort of diffuse a standard room light and shooting the pic without flash. Also, I'm guessing this is on bristol? If so, aqquaint thyself with illustration board and/or Arches 90lb hot press watercolor paper :) Heavier, it's gonna take a lot of punishment and you'll benefit from using the more awesome materials :3 That was one of the few things I learned guud- do not skimp on stuff like your paper.

A keen eye you have! I had used Higgens here, which bled/streaked under the marker nib, instead of my Speedball superblack india ink. It's the only ink I've seen that doesn't smear on synthetic papers. But then, Michaels/AC Moore isn't known for their selection. So a generic brand will perform just as well, if not better?
And yes, I'd shot it with my digital camera without any predisposition towards lighting. It was more a quick means to the end, though Tyr and I have discussed getting a light table set up, as she relies much more on proper photography for her models. As for the paper, it was from a Strathmore Drawing pad, although I have some midrange bristol and watercolor paper around. You're right though, I do need to upgrade my materials in the near future.
Thanks for the feedback!
