Meet Rosa!
A starter male for a new breed I hope to start making adopts of!
Briar imps are brightly colored tree dwellers living deep in the woods away from humans, often considered faefolk because of their appearances and the thorns and flowers that seem to live upon their heads. Their long tails and 4 toed feet make living among the branches and vines easy, able to hang upside down with their tails or use it to extend their reach to get to law hanging fruit.
Briar imps live in large groups called Harems, made up of many flamboyantly colored males and one female. Females are usually dull brows, greys, reds, and oranges. They're typically larger than the males they collect and live to protect their harems and breed. A female with a harem is called a Queen and her position as queen usually lasts for 4-5 years depending if she's challenged by another female for her spot in the harem. She'll lay a new clutch of eggs fathered by her entire harem once every three months and care for these eggs is left to the males.
Fights between females over possession of a harem can either be short and civil or very violent and bloody. Males can be very valuable depending on their coloration.
Male potential by color:
Pink: Rarest color - Highest breeding potential - capable of laying eggs like females.
Red: High breeding potential - Rare - Aggressive Breeders
Purple: High Breeding Potential - Uncommon
Orange: Rare - Medium breeding potential - often mistaken for female - usually live in smaller groups with other orange males.
Yellow: Low breeding potential - good for gathering food/looking after young.
Blue: Low breeding potential - good for gathering food/looking after young.
Green: Low breeding potential - good for gathering food/looking after young.
Briar Imps are mostly vegetarian, but will eat small reptiles, insects, birds, and their eggs if they can get to them. Depending on how healthy they are, the flowers and vines around their horns will live longer.
