people have lots of reasons for wanting to believe there are things that never change, but there is nothing that is not changing all the time. there is one thing that never changes though, and that is that, no matter how hard how many try to prevent it, and that one thing, is that everything keeps changing.
well there is one other, and that is that diversity is the only intrinsic nature reality has. people keep trying to change that too. but its too big for even everything awake in the universe, together at the same time, to even get its attention.
this is both the greatest inconvenience, and at the same time, the greatest hope.
at any rate, looks rather a lot like a cat.
i suppose one thing that seems like it never changes is that nothing responds immediately to what a lot of people, no matter how many, say they want and try to demand it.
and yet everything does respond, to the markets and incentives their priorities statistically create.
popular movements would have far more real power, if more people could understand this, and discipline themselves according to this actual mechanism.
to create the incentives, that would create the kind of world they want.
at any rate, i think the irrepressability of a cat, is a very good symbol, both for the universe, and how reality actually works.
