Actually, my first thought would have been a lance, something precise that could be used with greater reach, since in my mind, Pegasi are lighter in build and less durable than Earth Ponies and imagine a Pegasis diving down from altitude, at full speed and the sheer ammount of force being concentrated at the tip of that lance.
