Lol, 7 hours of back pain, a few hundred songs, and a dash of desperation to pay bills and rent.

Ah, but really, it's all just a matter of using the design concepts you enjoy most? Trying to add a bit of flair each time. Don't be afraid to try something new. Worst case scenario, if it's not looking right, you can just erase it and try again. And if you use photoshop? Gradient maps are amazing for colour tweaking <3

But your designs are aboslutely lovely! You already have an incredible sense of colour placement and palette choice. Not to mention, the artwork itself is VERY appealing. QuQ

As I get older I get less imaginative so I can't help but be envious, haha.

Oh man I feel the same way. I always figured I was just becoming sort of set in my ways? Like my creativity isn't what it used to be, and I'm trying REALLY hard to start experimenting with colours and designs again instead of letting myself get stuck in a rut.

It's good to use markings you enjoy, because chances are, if you enjoy it, you've probably invested a decent amount of time into perfecting it. But I suppose you just gotta try to work with both familiar and unfamiliar concepts if you want to grow as an artist?

Seriously though, don't sell yourself short. I've seen designs and markings and palettes from you that I never could have thought up. QvQ You have much more talent than you're giving yourself credit for! <3
