PCA Gift Art by Kompy: Team Crossroads Alternate Katie Lilmo
This picture came as a total surprise to me. One of the few times that I've gotten artwork from a friend that I wasn't expecting at all. No warning or anything, was like a nice early birthday present for me! I absolutely love this pic and I totally love the way Kompy did the burn marks on Katie's palms.

Physical Appearance: Katie is beautiful young absol female who stands at just over five feet and ten inches and weighs slightly over one hundred pounds. Her hair is as white as her fur, indeed, it would look as if the back of her head fur and grown out. She keeps it in a tight braid which she often lays over her right shoulder. Her dark red eyes are filled with an understanding that seems to clash with her age. She is well built and slightly muscular. Her most notable features are the fact that her horn is about an inch shorter than most absols and the burn marks on the palms of both her hands.
Clothes: Katie likes to wear more conservative style of clothing. Dark colored slacks, usually black or dark blue with the occasional brown; she prefers wearing long sleeved shirts whose color changes depending on her pants though her favorite is a dark pink blouse; around her neck she wears a black choker bejeweled with a dark blue magatama jewel. For the record, the jewel holds no significance, she just likes the way it looks.
Personality: Katie has a kind and friendly personality, though she can sometimes come across as being slightly aloof and cold. She doesn't mean to, but her manner of speech gives off the wrong impression at times.
Personal Info: Born Kathrine Cailin, Kaitlyn was the daughter of two middle class absols. She was born and raised in Pewter City and is the eldest of two, her younger brother now known as Obsidian Catseye. She doesn't remember much of birth parents or what they did for a living. When she was four, a fire spread through her house, killing her parents. It would have killed young Obsidian, who had just turned one at the time, if not for Katie's bravery. Risking her own life, she managed to break into her brother's room. What she saw shocked the young absol.
Obsidian's blankets were covered in flames, threatening to engulf the infant. Not thinking of anything but saving her brother, Katie let instincts take over. She rushed to his crib and used her hands to beat down the flames with her hands, burning her palms in the process. She was able to save him and get the both of them out of the burning house and to the shelter of a nearby woods. It was their that the pair were soon discovered by firefighters putting blaze engulfing the siblings' home out. Both were sent to the hospital to have their burns treated, Katie having burned her palms and young Obsidian (known then as Sidney) suffering burns on his back.
When they were released, it was discovered that the pair had no living relatives and thus were taken into the care of the city. So that was the plan. Unfortunately, the only orphanage in Pewter had room for only one of the two children. So it was that the Cailin siblings were split. Obsidian was sent to Our Lady of Peace Orphanage in Pewter and Katie was sent to St Mary Kahn's Orphanage in Viridian. It was the last time that Katie would see her brother for many years.
Thanks to an accident that happened not long after Katie was adopted, she doesn't remember much of her time during her stay at the Orphanage. Occasionally she gets flashes of memory, a familiar face or toy or a similar event.
Not that it matters to her. She is happy with the family that has taken her in. Her father is a security officer at one of the local malls and her mother works as a receptionist at nearby office complex. Both her parents are absols and it was from her father that she learned the basics for a good number of her current moves.
Katie enrolled at the PCA when she was fourteen. Despite her parents' jobs, she still attends mostly on scholarships for academic achievement as well as battle prowess. While many were trying to recruit the young absol for teams, Katie always politely turned them down. She felt that she worked best on her own and didn't feel that she would bring much to a team.
Upon entering her junior year, Katie found herself taking on a mentor role to some of her fellow students. One in particular caught her attention. An absol about three years younger than her. She was asked by his guardians, who happened to be good friends with Katie's parents, to tutor the male absol while he was recuperating in the hospital after suffering broken ribs during a fight that broken out on school grounds.
Katie found it odd that a part of her found the male vaguely familiar and was disappointed that nothing seemed to click when she found that his name was Obsidian Catseye. Asides from the connection to his family name, there was nothing about his name that rang any bells. Still, the feeling of familiarity persisted in her. It seemed to persist in young Obsidian as well as he had mentioned that there was something about Katie that seemed vaguely familiar to him as well.
It wasn't long after meeting Obsidian that nightmares of a fire began to haunt Katie's sleep. Nightmares of out-of-control fires, of cries of despair from unknown voices, and of a baby's crying. Each time she had these dreams, she would wake in a cold sweat staring at her burnt palms, knowing that they were related to the dreams she had been having.
Almost a full month after she had started tutoring Obsidian, she was visited by the male absol at her home. He had apparently come across information regarding his birth family and had something he felt Katie needed to see. He took a picture out of the folder he had been carrying and handed it to Katie. As Katie looked at the photo of a young female absol, memories began flooding back. Memories of the night the fire took her parents and separated her from her younger brother.
When she looked back at Obsidian, the familiarity she had felt began to make sense. It was apparent that Obsidian had felt the same thing. Not willing to take a chance at being wrong, the pair immediately went to have testing done to see if their shared hunch was right. They received their a short time later. Indeed, the pair were siblings. Katie was ecstatic, after almost thirteen years she was reunited with the brother she had been separated from.
The pair are still undecided where to go from here. They have both decided to forfeit their birth first names, both preferring the names they currently have, but are unsure of if they should retake their family name out of respect for the parents they lost that night thirteen years ago. No matter their choice, they both know they now have blood family to support each other through things now.
Misc.: Although she's been an independent for most of her school career at the PCA, Katie has recently become an alternate for Team Crossroads. She looks forward to the challenge of being on a team and the different style of training that comes with it. Katie has also developed a crush on Team Bistro's leader, Lilly Umami but is still unsure of how to approach the lickilicky despite support from her brother and friends.
