Thursday, I took Isis, one of my 7-year-old kitties, to the vet for routine blood work and vaccines, but when I got there, she was breathing very heavily. We soon discovered that she had fluid in her lungs and a misshapen heart. We gave her injections all day Thursday and again for half of the day Friday to decrease the amount of fluid in her chest. The vet thinks that she has likely had this condition for a while, but did not have to show any symptoms until taking a stressful car ride. She is currently still at the vet getting oral medications until we feel like she can handle the ride home.
