
Yes, I know that people's been asking forever what one would look like fully geared, and some time ago i finally got around to it. It would roughly look something along the lines of this. Now there's a bit of mechanics to it. The helm is basically the brain of the entire outfit. It harnesses the controls and high tech functions of the suit in it's entirety. Very durable and very difficult to destroy, it houses, and powers a form fitting energy field that encompasses the entire body, capable of deflecting almost all light munitions. Naturally, heavy caliber would be very difficult to deflect.
Naturally, each soldier has their own stash of amunition for the weapon they are assigned, strapped to utility belts; those in a commanding position, using the weapon of their choice. Further, each commanding unit has their own secondary set of weapons in access as well. As for Andraia here, her weapons of choice are a pair of S&W 1911 DK; secondary being twin short swords strapped to her back. (said handguns are not pictured here :p)

Hrmm, intriguing. When you speak of light caliber rounds, up to what overall muzzle energy are we describing? Should I make the assumption that this gear is the equivalent of Class 3-a armor, or is it more? If less, than up to what level?
The use of something chambered in .45 ACP is an excellent choice for a sidearm. While the bullet has a lower muzzle velocity than the more commonly used 9mm round, the .45 ACP is a high-mass round with a ton of muzzle energy behind it when used. It would be logical to assume that such weapons are firing +P+ ammunition.

Pardon my detailed questions. I ask them because I adore your art, and this Redwire concept is intriguing to me. Thus, I am kind of assessing and vetting the technology to see how it functions and if I find any flaws suggesting logical patch-ups for them.

Hehe, well, lets see if i can answer then.
Well, when i speak of light caliber, i refer to most any rounds fired by a carried firearm, as upposed to heavy artillery (.50 cal plus--heavy machine gun, aircraft, etc). In regards to muzzle energy and velocity and the like, I suppose it would really depend on what it was fired from, because let's face it; every firearm can be modified form it's standard spec these days. This armor would be more geared towards standard spec.
Hehe, I'm tempted to say that it's powered by an arc reactor, but that's just because i just finished watching Ironman for the second time. xD But, it wouldn't be too far off from that concept; I just haven't really thought on it just yet honestly. Vulkyries are designed in such a way that they wouldnt' come under suppressed heavy fire, but IF (and that's a big if) they were to, it would overload the power system to the point where it would have to shut down and reset itself. But, that in itself, Vulkyries are designed in such a way that it would take a hell of a lot in the way of gunfire to put them down.

.50 caliber isn't considered a heavy weapon in current parlance, though I certainly understand your point. While some people may not be aware of it, there is in fact several Eastern-Bloc rifles out there chambered in the 20mm Hispano round. These bolt-action monstrosities are man-portable and function often as anti-materiel rifles, though needless to say they can just as easily be used to hit a living target. Scary stuff, those.

This implies in and of itself that speed and stealth are their primary allies in their operations: striking very quickly from stealth with little or no warning allowed to the targets. Such operations implies a highly-effective and vigilant intelligence operations / information gathering branch. All of these assumptions would be reasonable expectations especially if this group was drawing upon the operational experience of the Israeli Mossad.
While you haven't explicitly explained such, I can assume that the term "Vulkyries" is used for their field operations agents.
On the matter of power source, there is precious little that generates sufficient power for a bubble of the nature you are discussing, though depending upon how deep you wish to delve into unconventional physics (and how many crackpot ideas one is willing to entertain as possible truths), the only thing that comes to mind from the "lunatic fringe" of science is the long-unproven and insanely-improbable "Scalar generator and Scalar Shield" proposed by one T. Bearden, one of those involved in the perpetual energy myth. His work is supposedly grounded in the mythical Tesla notes stolen from the man after his death. I will caution you strongly about reading his writings, as they smack of unrelenting Cold War attitudes and fear of Russian / Communist plots in the current day, amongst other things. Nonetheless, it can serve as a jumping-off point to more factual and mainstream research in this field.

it's nice to see you didn't just come up with the Redwire idea just so you could post lots of pictures of posing in it that would get anyone dishonorably discharged, RL. *Laughter* I've known from some of your past work that you really put some thought into these things and this is proof. It has quite a retro, pulp science-fiction look to it, though it's not as blalant as one from another artist I once knew.
