Wonderful feathery effect! I'd love to see it in much higher resolution than the 1280x1280 pixels FA allows. dA doesn't have any pixel limits. If you render these at a higher resolution than you show here, perhaps you could post the full resolution images there and provide a link to them under your FA images. I've done this occasionally with my photomorphs.
Golly, thank you very much!
I know what you mean about dA. After having one of my furry photomorphs removed with no explanation, I requested a link to the dA 40+ page Policy Enforcement Manual - and was told that "That is not available to the public." Seig heil! They are very antigay and antifurry.
What do you mean by "leechers"?

Damn discrimination. :/ Sucks, doesn't it?
Leechers, DA is the main place of art-theft, and I mean, I know my art isn't anything worth stealing, I'd still rather not be on a site that does that, you know? Don't get me wrong, I love browsing FA, but sometimes it's just... meh. :P

^-^
Anyhow, I'm going to try and render this anew later tonight. And, I did find a way to render another fractal as a PNG. And as I did this, I rendered a .GIF as well to compare, and I see absolutely no difference. Especially since the entire image is in red. I can send them both to you for reference, if you like. :)

If the time consumed for rendering wouldn't interfere with your other computer use, I'd really love to see this one at twice the resolution as a PNG. Fine red details are especially badly mauled by the JPG compression process, whereas PNG compression is lossless. There is so much fine feathery red to orange detail here that I know that the JPG process clobbered it.
I will definitely re-render it (At twice the detail, it will take a good day... No joke, so give me some time), but, as the program can only render in .JPG format, I am unable to render in .PNG. The only I thing that I could do is save it as .JPG and convert it... But that would accomplish absolutely nothing, lol.
Thanks! There is a Java version of Apophysis for my Mac that I'll soon try. I wonder if it will produce a PNG. The conversion to a JPG is an output module, not the rendering engine itself. Perhaps there is a PNG patch. If I recall correctly, Apophysis is open source, so if I'm right, a PNG output patch seems pretty likely.
No rush at all. Thank you very much! Do it when you will be gone for a day.
