They're a really great poet, go check them out!
I've spent quite a few thousand hours in Minecraft, ever since the Team Fortress 2 community I was a part of at the time went from playing Infiniminer to owning their own Minecraft server back when it first became possible to do that.
I don't have a record of exactly how much time I've spent there but it's probably been at least a few months of my life total over that period of time. I consider it the greatest game I've ever played, followed by Team Fortress 2, then Torchlight, and then Everquest. This is mostly because of the friendships I've made because of these games.
To some, playing games is 'wasting time'. I never really understood how enjoying yourself is a waste, but maybe that's just me. All I know is that I'm grateful for the friendships all that time wasting has brought me. I'm more than happy to waste a bit more time writing a silly poem about it.

I could easily witness this extrapolated as the lyrical piece of a fan made song of minecraft accompanied by an animation or actual game footage depicting the caressing wonders of the game.
Beautiful.
If only the real world would function by the logic which inhabits minecraft... it would be so endless and simple yet... creative.

There was a ton of drama in Minecraft, too. Don't get me wrong-like real life, any time you interact with people you're going to end up dealing with negative situations. I'm fortunate in that I have the ability to make the best of bad situations. It's why I'm a roo, I'm good at bouncing back.
I think the best thing about Minecraft is that it forces us to look at real life from a different angle, and in a way we normally wouldn't since we've all becomes accustomed to tuning that stuff out in the name of 'the big picture'.

Admittedly, I have played minecraft exclusively in singleplayer so I happen not to be informed about the community and the kind of behaviour its players had.
And yes, I agree. Minecraft can hold quite a philosophical value, like any other thing, if you take the time to analyze it and find one such value.

It depends on the server. I played on the Blockaholics server for awhile (which was the old Fug server, which itself was the server I started on way back when), then I went to the Massivecraft server. Massivecraft is an MMO, only one where (for the most part) the content is user generated. It's a fascinating concept-unfortunately, I'd rather not support the people who run it, they're not the nicest folks.
There was a lot of negative drama there. Some of it was my own but not all of it. It was a toxic environment. Later, I played on a few servers owned by friends of mine but my heart wasn't into it anymore. Maybe I'll get back into it at some point but I have art as well as writing to focus on now. What I once got from Minecraft, I get from those instead.

Every community, regardless how beautiful it is, is bound to have its share of negative drama. It's like a universal rule, heh.
So, I take it I lost nothing by sticking to singleplayer only, well, whaddya know...
However I agree with you, writing and artistic pursuits give far more rewards than playing a game. Come to think of it, it's like games are a hindrance to your potential.
However, no one should neglect the inspirational capabilities that a game serves.

I've loved everything I've read so far. I'll be commenting on each piece once I get a chance to actually focus on it (kinda drowsy atm). I didn't find it meaningless. I thought it was sort of like Minecraft itself. Minecraft tends to look simple yet a ton of meaning lies within for those willing to take the time to mine for it. Your poem was perfect. Mine has a few too many corners but I still think it's good.
Originally, it was three times as long, both poem & sentence length-wise
