I'm getting the hang of this new shading technique. I'm able to shade a lot faster! I started this last night and just got done today.
I sketched and inked this using my Galaxy Note tablet, then I took it over to photoshop for color.

Oooo lookin' good! Very soft shading technique, natural. Love the scenario here too - like... sitting in there watching him with those BIG sexy paws would be temptation enough as it was, but then to see him lift one leg up and prop up his sole like that.... AGHAHGFHFFH... yum. ^^;
The galaxy note 10.1 2014 has a nice stylus, but its rather thin to hold. Wacom did make the stylus for it, and it feels very smooth to draw on. No slippery surface. But! I wouldn't get it for a main drawing device. Drawing on it can be pretty clunky and laggy. Plus you are limited with certain drawing apps. If you can afford a Wacom companion, I would definitely go with that! But its pretty pricey. I don't know much about the Surface, but I do know the companion would feel like the Cintiq 13HD which is the one I have.
Sounds better than drawing with an iPad =P, using a stylus with that is like trying to draw with a thumb. But yeah the companion is pretty tempting, I wonder though if I should wait 6 months or so, and see if any tablets with decent graphics cards come out, would be awesome for gaming / 3D.
It's pretty much impossible... I mainly just use my intuos or paper, I'll see if I can try out one of the Notes, sounds cool, we've got one of the bigger cintiqs at work and it's just *drool*... But it's also like $4k, so screw that. I was really close to getting one of those 13HDs before the companion was announced, good to hear its working well for you!
Goodness he looks adorable. That showing of sole is such a cute tease, and the coloration certainly does help him to stand out :) Overall, he just looks extremely friendly and huggable. Wonderful work here!
I'm also curious about the shading technique that you mention? Shading is always a tough thing for me, so any tips or techniques are very sought after. The shading on this looks especially natural and warm, so it makes me even more interested!

Well I couldn't tell you how I did it but I can tell ya how I set up my tools. I currently don't have PS open at the moment since I'm replying from my phone in bed. xD But I think the brush I used is called "hard brush" its one of the top default brushes when you right click to bring up the brush menu. I then set the flow to 5% . From there you can play around with the shading. If you know the basics of shading you can get a pretty good looking result. Its really that simple. x)
Absolutely love how well you did on his body type and form as you did a spectacular job on his appearance, his belly overall, and the shape look of his feet as well, which have a lovely sense of detail and shading to his soles. The sweat turned out nicely and overall this came out beautifully. Very, very well done on this!
