Maneki whistled to herself as she walked through the house. All was quiet, and she was enjoying the peacefulness of the day. "There. The laundry is finished. Now I can start on the cake for..." she thought before passing the living room. Something in the room had made her freeze in her tracks. She looked back and her eyes widened at what she saw. "...Lucky?" she asked as she saw her friend seemingly talking to the hat rack. She approached the feline from behind as the cream colored female burst into laughter. "Are you okay?" asked Maneki concerned. "Hmm? Oh Neki! Glad you're here. I was just telling my friend about the time we ate a whole wedding cake by ourselves." said Luck. Her face was flush with blush and she held a green beer bottle in her hand. "We never did that Lucky. More importantly though, where did you get that?" asked Maneki concerned. "I found it in the fridge. I think Shly said that he was handed it yeshterday evening walking home. Musht have been in prep for from the Shaint. Patrickhs Day. Shpeaking of whish...You know what today is right 'Neki?" asked Luck obviously tipsy from the beer. "Yes I do. Happy Birthday Lucky. Now give me this. You know you can't handle alcohol." said Maneki as she took the bottle from her friend. "I'm shorry 'Neki. I'm jusht a little ex-exshited...Sly...Oh hold on...Mashter...said he would have a shurprise for me tonight for my birthday. It'sh been a looooooong time shinsh I looked forward to my birthday. Sho I thought I'd shelebrate." said Luck with a smile. "Alright. But you've had enough. You want to be able to see and remember the surprise Master has for you right?" asked Maneki as she walked to the kitchen to pour the beer into the sink. "Yesh Yesh, you're right 'Neki. You're alwaysh looking out for me. You know that meansh a lot." said Luck as she followed the calico into the kitchen. "Of course I know Luckyyyyyyy!" said Maneki surprised as she felt her friend give a pinch to her left butt cheek. "Whoopsh. No green. Shame Shame 'Neki get'sh a pinsh." said Luck laughing. Maneki couldn't help but smile to herself as she rubbed her sore bottom. It was rare to see Luck like this. She told herself that one day she would have to record her and let her see herself. "That would be funny to see." she thought as she watched Luck wander back into the living room. "She knew she didn't have to worry too much. She would sober up before long. "Now to make that cake." she thought as she turned to the pantry, ready to start baking.
