Oooo no, I can totally relate. I used to have the worst time deciding on what to draw "this is too hard for my current abilities, i wont even try" "i want to do this but not sure because i also want to do that!" I still fall into it sometimes where I just can't decide on references or how to portray a character, so i think its pretty natural.

This^
That right there would be me most of the time XD And yeah it's most likely natural, but it still sucks!
Cause you want to try it, but you feel it's not going to look as right, or it won't reflect on the image in you mind!

And you know, that thought held me back for about 10+ years. If I had just tried and pushed my way through and gave it a shot anyway, I would have pushed myself to learn sooner. It's a slow process butt he more you push yourself to do the things you wanna try, the faster you'll improve. It wont look perfect, you'll still see flaws, in fact, I always see flaws, im always learning and im always pushing my comfort boundaries because it's the only way we'll improve. You'll get there and one day you can redraw it and it'll finally be exactly how you wanted it to look because you learned so much in the process. You'll get there, just gotta believe in yourself, work hard, push past that thought that you can't do this, so why even try. we try so we can grow and i just know you'll get there <333 ;U;
I think the person who had to push me past my comfort zone would be this chika
cause if she didn't become an influence on my life, I probably would still be making badly drawn sonic-fanart. After that, I started pushing myself more! I figured the more I improved, the more satisfied I'll become with my art personally! I mean like you said, there are still flaws in our art, but im sure if we both keep on practicing we can get past them! Probably learn from each other if you ask me =D
I look at my old pieces, and I sit there going "wow...I really did come a long way haven't I?"
