The theme to this year's Fur the 'More convention was Pirates vs. Ninjas and I commissioned this amazing pirate-themed badge from Windfalcon as a preorder for the con. I asked her to draw Lily holding a toy pirate saber she had found in her beak while wearing whatever other pieces of a child's pirate costume she had happened upon. I was blown away by the result and wore it proudly during the con. Poor Windfalcon was a ninja but got many more pirate badge commissions than ninja badge commissions.
What can I say, though? Gulls are the original pirates!
I tried to match the colors as best I could, but the scan doesn't do the original justice. It's a gorgeous painting.
