Ok. So it's not a human RL me, as is the latest trend, but I've been wanting to do a picture of Vinci as a people for my LJ, so I sat down and did it. I totally wish I had a red F bandanna.
One of the perks of being a teacher is that you've got a whole heckuva lot of children's books for inspiration (JAN BRETT, OMG).. I think that's why my "people" cartoons turn out this way. :)
Also I grade papers with red pen and my students are not traumatized, so take -that- whiny psycho education trend. Kisses. <3
Oh and my convocation is TOMORROW. AAAAAAAAHAHHAHHAQUIDJKXJBSUYDHSJKLA

The worst comment (gut wrenching, sweat beading on my forehead) that I've ever received on a paper, worse even then the "What were you thinking?!" type of comments, was:
"What?"
And that was all there was on the paper. D8
I nearly cried. (The point was, that comment was written in blue ink.)

Ugh. I wouldn't ever write something like that, and I'm pretty honest with them. If it's sloppy, I'll write "Neater please, you can do better." or "Please slow down, your letters are not touching the lines." I usually add faces too, like "" if it looks like they just rushed it and did it halfass. I've never had a problem. They correct it and hand it back in.
That type of comment you got was more of a poke at character rather than the work itself, which is a no-no.

I am not surprised in the least that human Vinci turns out to be every bit as adorable and "warm" as raccoon Vinci. Except for the obvious difference in eyes (which you explained anyways, so meh), they look very similar. Which is a weird statement if you think about it too much, so don't.
Wait, you're a teacher?
Okay, that rocks. I've just been starting my Bachelors of Education in this last year...I'd be lying if I didn't say I was really looking forward to my future career. If ya don't mind my asking, what do you teach? (Send me a note if you want :) )

I was jsut recently thinking of how all my characters would look if they were human. Well, okay, some of them are (or at least part of the time!) but for the ones who aren't, y'know?
. . . then again, most of them would be rather different if they were. Oh well!
As for this, it's amazing what a different feel the piece has from what I'm accustomed to seeing from you. Something about the eyes especially. I think reducing the eyes brings the rest of your expression work into focus, which is definitely a good thing.
