So...yeah....another one of my hobbies. I'm an amateur bullwhip maker. I got into bullwhip cracking in the 90s at the Lodi juggling festival. It's not an S&M thing, they are incredibly painful and I've accidentally got myself a few times. However, they require no eyesight...no strength. It's all finesse and timing. Practice is difficult, they are loud and annoying and sure to draw the ire of neighbors and park goers.

I got into making them about 5 years back and I still have a lot to learn. The whip in the picture is named for my cat (Levi for short). I tried to match his coloring...the non-colorblind helped me with that part. Levi is a big boy, he's been on a diet for over a year and still weighs in at about 20 lbs. my usual whip length is 6 feet but in honor of Levi I made it about 25 feet long. Big and pretty useless, just like my cat :3. It's a bitch to crack, I made it way too light. Ah we'll, I usually make a whip to give away as a gift at burning man. I'm thinking raccoon tail....maybe furifying the handle :3. I also want to do a linzer whip...purple and blue with a fur handle. Should be fun :3
