Actually, "an inanimate object made living" is exactly what Galatea is - the mythological one, ayway.
This is a very lovely sequence all over.
Also, I am not a 'feet' kinda guy, but I appreciate and love the parts where artists get rather species-defining traits down in a believable way. Like them primate paws still looking capable of supporting a bipedal body and not snapping off at the ankles.
