*laughs* Don't feel bad. You're far from alone on that. As a photographer who often uses badges to try to identify and find a fursuiter here on FA, you'd be amazed at how often the badges are facing the wrong way. I believe there's some type of electromagnetic field that causes badges to flip around and face the wrong way. :D
