I never understood why'd one spend all the money on water cooled high end systems.. in a couple of years you'll get a similar level of performance from a 400W enthusiast-level machine that's 1/3 the cost :V

Only the processor is water cooled, everything else is on air. As far as cost goes, 90 percent of the stuff was on sale at the time, so it ended up not costing as much as I originally planned. Additionally, I doubt you could even achieve the same level of performance from a 400 watt system, knowing that most graphics cards already eat over 40 percent of that.

more accurate to say 700-750 watt, video cards on the other hand... those become insanely efficient over time by comparison to their original models. i still personally wouldn't run water cooling because it simply isn't necessary unless you're overclocking the hell out of it and if you're running a higher end processor with a very basic fan&heatsink the system should be fine. there's not much you can do to a computer these days with a very up-to-date cpu that can run it ragged without deliberately trying.
