**IMPORTANT** -- Even though Mustel is my character and his design as portrayed here is mine, I did *NOT* create this avatar. This amazing avatar was created by professionals in the CG field who go by "Katana Woolley" and "Exosius Woolley" in Second Life. These photos are a testament to their skills, which have brought my character to life to a degree I hadn't thought possible. I have yet to see another furry avatar on Second Life that has pulled off such flexibility, or such a smooth transition from one body part to the next.
If you are considering commissioning someone for your own unique, custom Second Life AV, Katana and Exosius currently have a business there called Illusion Foundation. They were both a pleasure to do business with, and showed great passion and pride in their work. I'd recommend them to anyone, any day. Thanks again, you guys!!
They also have a Facebook page where you can see more of their work: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Illu.....n/331621157555
I feel I should explain why I had someone else make this new AV instead of making it myself. I had been walking around with the same Second Life avatar that I created nearly ten years ago, as seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/247922/
Ten years ago, it was the best I could do with what SL had to offer to people trying to build things. As time went on, I slowly updated that old AV with sculpted parts to smooth out the shape. However, due to SL's limitations, having a long torso with short legs meant that I could never properly pose in certain ways. To do so would often break the AV in two.
Then, mesh was introduced to Second Life. It was a huge leap in avatar development that I had no knowledge of. I tried to learn it, and I even had some good pros try to help me out, but it was no use -- I'd never understand it well enough to use it.
Up until now, I have seldom been in the habit of wearing an avatar that wasn't created by myself. I just didn't like the idea of buying a mass-produced, cookie-cutter avatar from a vendor, ultimately looking like everyone else who bought it. So, unable to make my own mesh ferret AV, I finally decided to let someone else have a go at it, and I have no regrets.
This is one happy dooker. ^.^
