I'm not as happy with this shot as I should be I think. I just don't like that the bird is in the center!!! Post processing has remedied the problem a little bit, but I still am not totally happy with the fact that I shot the subject dead center! (I thought I was done with that....ack)

I'm really not overly bothered by the fact that it's in the center; the fact that the branch it's on curves the viewer's eye back to the edge of the picture plane + the other two branches that make it a half-triangle composition really save it. :3 A wee smidgen off center woulda helped too, definitely, but overall it worked out fine. Your "post-processing" helped too of course. :P It's a lovely photo! So nice and clear and vibrant, ack, I wish I had photography skillz.
Remember, there are no rules, only tools :] if you can break a rule and make it look GOOD then it's GOOD! Frankly, I think having the bird in the center in this case is actually really effective. There's enough going on in the background so that the bird being in the center really doesn't hurt your composition. Frankly I think it's pretty amazing +FAV
