Hee-hee! Well, I finally had to get the picture off my niece's ipod myself, but here it is, my cake as designed by Luprand! I admit, the real me isn't quite this well-rounded, but I still hope to expand my horizons in those directions...
As you can see, Luprand's work translates really well to the sugar printer used for these picture cakes. I look sumptuously Sybaritic, even if one of the small children in the area DID manage to nick the corner frosting off one edge...

Isn't it, though?
luprand does great work, and the folks at my local Brookshire's bakery bake a great cake to go with it.

Hee! No credit to this wolf, sorry. The picture is by
luprand, and the cake is by the bakers at my local Brookshire's.

Not quite, alas... that would require a cake pan 9" x 14.562" (or alternatively 13" x 8"), and the bakers at Brookshire's didn't have pans in the appropriate size. (I kid, I didn't actually think of asking for a Golden Rectangle cake. ) It does approximate Hambidge's dynamic rectangle, though: 13/9 is 1.444... which approximates the square root of 2.
Not as much as I'd like, but I enjoyed having a lot of people at my party -- even if it was because my birthday wound up sharing space with my sister's mother-in-law's Saint Patrick's Day party. That was the most people I've ever had singing "Happy Birthday" at my party... (glee) My one annoyance is that we didn't have any candles for me to blow out. Still, it was a delicious cake and a fun party with good food (said mother-in-law serves the best, most tender corned beef...) and a lot of people, so I felt very honored.
