I like what you were going for with the panels, but I think there's too much negative space that doesn't feel consistent. Maybe keeping the shape of the borders, but also having the panels for the background to fill it in? Just thought I'd give a little critique. I don't know if you are going to get this published and printed, or maybe you already have? I'm too into the story to check at the moment.(Or perhaps just lazy.) XD

i actually do want to edit these older pages for a print version, so i'll keep this in mind! thank you
