this is fucking awesome! have you thought about inking on a nice eastern or tissue paper and collage it together? you have a wonderful graphic style and i love the transparency on the fish, but sharp edges would help make the composition more dynamic in a couple areas. anyway keep up the good work!

eastern papers are really varied. the major difference is they have less starch than western paper, relying on a longer fiber instead to hold the paper together. some papers are marketed as for sumi-e but the best ones are marketed for printmaking (they will also work for sumi-e).

i think you should check out the illustrator eric carle and the printmaker Antonio Frasconi if you are not already familiar with them. i think their work could inform some of the stuff you are playing around with here
