That pouch had an eyelash fetish so it inverted to reach the eyelashes.

we were trying to figure out thylacine pouches during the drawnig as well ^^" was proving difficult for extinct species though

No idea on fe/male variants in thylacines.
For that reason i guess it a good thing we didnt really show any bits to say it has a gender :)

I have no idea how I ended up here, BUT.

Thylacines (and plenty of other marsupials) have rear-facing pouches so that they don't fill them with sand, earth and mud while digging.

Kangaroos don't dig, so there's no need to have a reverse pouch. In fact, with their semi-upright stance, it makes more sense for them to be that way around.

Basically, if it's a digging marsupial, the pouch entrance/exit faces the rear.

Males only had a pouch for hiding their balls in so they didn't get caught on underbrush while stalking. Other than when sneaking up on dinner they didn't really use it. He could be stuffing you in there. XD

Most marsupials have pouches like this. Only the kangaroo-like ones have pouches that open upward because they stand upright. The backwards-faced ones could look vaguely like anuses based on how you look at it though.
