More drawings to try shaking off a bad mood, more trying out the Penstix pen - it's great for figures and organic stuff, but I feel like a different pen is better for stuff like that axe.
These guys are tanarruks, demonic blooded orcs. Apparently I decided that translated to old-skool AD&D. Oink oink! Oh yeah, and also you can kinda tell what I was listening to.

These are fabulous! Great to see a female orc too! (Y'know, it occurs to me, I don't think Tolkien ever said whether there were any in Middle Earth...?)
They have a strong Runequest/Gloranthan Troll vibe, too. I'd definitely use these as illustrations of a troll race in a fantasy game.
By the way, the other day I was tickled to chance upon a 2012 post on a Dark Sun-related blog, that had high praise for your Dark Sun character pictures :)

Ego-boo ahoy! http://www.geneome.com/2012/10/22/p.....iant-dark-sun/ :)
I think a result of the British children's books I got as a kid, I think of ancient people as wearing checker patterns and plaids. In retrospect, combining skull breastplate with checked pants on a monster looks very 80s vintage White Dwarf 'Eavy Metal painting guide.
