Going to be lining and painting this little guy with watercolors. After he's painted, I'm burning the edges and mounting the piece in a frame. Relatively happy with how he's going. :3

Everyone loves butterflies...but I hardly ever see them anymore...when I was little they were everywhere. At least I see moths (even some HUGE ones) from time to time. Altho...I think it mostly has to do with moving into the city...ever since I got to Grand Rapids I hardly ever get nature time. I think the most natural thing I've seen in the whole city is the raccoon who eats out of our trash cans at night. (He doesn't know I watch ) Makes me miss my parents house in the burbs.
Wait! You live in Grand Rapids?! I live in Woodhaven! Ahh! Haha
Yeah, definitely. There's not much in the more metro areas. I see squirrels and bunnies and a few occasional butterflies on my grandmother's flowers outside.
TONS of birds, though.
Turkey vultures, gulls, geese, woodpeckers, sparrows, finches, you name it. Haha.

Oh squirrels we have...theres a tiny red one on the way to work who claimed his turf and yells at everyone who passes by. Or chitters actually. I'm suchj a softy...every time he jumps out and starts holding a fit because I'm too close...I walk around to the other side of the street. I'm not actually scared of him...he just seems so serious about it
that makes me wish i could whistle right.... ...I never quite got the hang of it... it always comes out muted and soft instead of clear notes...mostly I'd just like to make birds feel welcome that way...y'know...just make them comfortable until they hardly even notice when I'm around. my bf told me about hummingbirds at a house he painted...he was next to the garden feeder...and after awhile he'd been there long enough that they risked feeding right next to his elbow...just buzzing right next to him...sooo envious. I work in a Starbucks...the only thing that buzzes near me are overcaffienated customers
