Chapter Three

Encounter

Shakou finished packing up the raft after assessing the damage. InuYasha had

picked up on Sesshomaru’s trail. They continued to walking along the shore and

came across a dark and damp cave.

Shakou- “Hey InuYasha , I want to apologize for not warning you about the raft and

the accident too. I didn’t really think any damage was going to come from this.

InuYasha- “Would you get over it! We made it here, it doesn’t matter what

happened. All we need to do is beat Sesshomaru!”

InuYasha started walking into the cave and Shakou followed him. InuYasha

felt his way through as neither one of them could see their hands in front of their

face. When suddenly InuYasha slows down reaches back to pause Shakou.

InuYasha- “He’s close, I can sense him.” He whispered.

Shakou- “How can you be sure he’s here?”

InuYasha – “I just know and you’re going to have to trust me on that.”

As they turned around what seems to be a corner, there was a light shinning

from the other side. There was a small hole in the ceiling of the cave, letting lightin

from the outside. Standing in the light, in wait was Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru – “Well if it ain’t my little brother, we meet again. Come back for

more punishment?”

InuYasha – “How funny! The only reason you escaped is because of your cheap

tricks. You can’t fight me fair and you know it. I’m going to take you down so just

give it up already!”

Shakou – “You’re going to hand back over that treasure you took from me too!”

InuYasha – “See there is nowhere to run, now we’re going to take what’s ours!” he

glared back at Sesshomaru.

InuYasha and Shakou drew their swords and prepared for battle.

InuYasha whispering to Shakou – “Be careful of his whip, it contains poison.

“Gotcha.” He responded back.

“Now CHARGE!!!!!” As they both ran full speed ahead towards Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru unimpressed by their lack of speed. “This is pathetic.” He said boringly.

He easily avoids both their attacks just by stepping side to side. InuYasha and

Shakou glared back.

Sesshomaru – “Is that all you got?! Shakou I heard they call you a Demon? What a

horrible and pathetic excuse for one. You’re only slightly better than my brother who

is a half-demon.” He taunted.

Shakou with his eyes fired up - “Why you son of a ….”

InuYasha – “Out of the way Shakou! Sesshomaru you asked for it! You don’t insult

me or this warrior when you don’t even have the skills to face your opponents with

respect.”

Shakou jumps out of the way as InuYasha yells and swings his sword

“WINDSCAR!!!!” unleashing a powerful attack. Sesshomaru pulls out his sword just

in time to deflect the attack out through the opening in the ceiling of the cave.

While Sesshomaru was focused on the Windscar attack InuYasha was already

charging in for another assult. Shakou in the meantime had a plan of his own. One


secret weapon that he hasn’t been able to try in combat yet. “Well I haven’t tried

these guys out yet, but it could be worth a shot.” Shakou thought to himself.

Shakou sneaks away from the battlefield, as Sesshomaru and InuYasha continued to

clash swords. The clinging of the swords echoed all through the cave.

InuYasha – “I’m going to get those jewel shards back, and Shakou’s treasure!!!” He

yelled furiously. Sesshomaru – “In your dreams, I’ll be taking all of yours by the end

of this battle. The battle continued on as they exchanged blows. However

Sesshomaru was starting to get the upper hand. He managed to deflect InuYasha’s

sword with his whip. InuYasha now completely exposed to a full attack, Sesshomaru

delivered a swift kick to his gutt and sent him into the stone wall of the cave.

InuYasha with a little blood dripping from his mouth as he continues to cough,

Sesshomaru approaches him.

Sesshomaru – “Looks like your friend has abandoned you. I guess the treasure

didn’t mean much to him, and just shows how pathetic of demon he is. Going off

running and escaping while he could, leaving you here all by yourself.”

Shakou – “Hold it right there!”

Sesshomaru looked around and saw nothing in his immediate sight. “Where is that

voice coming from?” He thought to himself with a concerning look on his face.

Shakou – “You really can’t see me?” he laughed.

Sesshomaru then looked up to the ceiling of the cave and couldn’t believe his eyes.

There were 10 Shakou’s floating in the air.

Sesshomaru – “What kind of magic is this? Oh well it doesn’t matter. I’m just going

to have to take care of this pest now.” He said angrily.

Before dealing with Shakou, Sesshomaru gave one more good punch to

InuYasha’s ribs knocking him out and flat on the ground. Hiding behind one of his

balloon decoys he was sitting on Shakou prepares an arrow. Luckily he paced it not

know what type of combat he was going to be on while

looking for his treasure.

Shakou – “So which one is the real me?! Could I be here? Or am I over here?” He

yelled as it echoed through the cave, so Sesshomaru could not pick up on his

location.Sesshomaru turns his head and unleashes his whip in the direction where he

thinks Shakou voice is coming from. Slashing one of the balloons in the stomach

causing it to “POP!” causing a slight rumbling in the cave. As Sesshomaru was

attacking Sahkou fired an arrow only to crack the right shoulder armor.

Shakou – “Damn.” He whisper to himself. “That wasn’t the right one try again. I bet

you can’t find me

this time!” He continued to taunt Sesshomaru only infuriating him more.

See Sesshomaru is an experienced fighter. Using his knowledge of his armor

being cracked he can assume it came from his right hand side. So Sesshomaru does

that, he turns to his right and flares out his whip again. Shakou waited for the right

moment and attacked, he got two shots off this time. However this time

Sesshomaru’s attacked missed or so he thought. The tip of his whip managed to

burn a hole in tail of the decoy balloon, which then sent the balloon flying across the

cave. It ended up bumping into another balloon, which was sent upwards into the

ceiling of the stone spikes causing it to “POP!” The cave rumbled even more, a few

little spike stones fell from the ceiling but none hitting any of the balloons. The two

arrows Shakou fired one hit the other shoulder piece and another one caught

Sesshomaru in the left leg.

Shakou a little unsettled by just what happened knows he doesn’t have much

time left, as he didn’t take into consideration the sharp stone objects around him.

Sesshomaru – “Okay it’s time to put an end to this.” Now even more pissed off then

before.Shakou – “This is not good I have to get to him even more and throw him

off.” He thought to himself as only seven decoy balloons were remaining.

Sesshomaru looked up and due to all the echoing in the cave three of the balloons

ended up besides each other. He thought about what just happened on the last

attack. “If I could cut all three of their tails then I could send them flying. It could

possibly eliminate the rest of them in this shot. Then it’s game over.”

Shakou – “What’s wrong is this pathetic excuse for a demon beating you?!” Shakou

continues to taunt and trying to sound confident knowing he doesn’t have much time

left and has to do it within the next shot or two.

Sesshomaru lines up his attack and once again unleashes his whip on all three

balloons, barely slicing their tails in one perfect shot. The decoy balloons were sent

sporadically flying through the air. Shakou tries to get a shot off and fires.

However his shot was intercepted by one of the deflating

balloons causing it to “POP!” The two remaining decoy balloons were flying around

the cavern. Shakou watched in horror as his decoys deflate through the air as one

bumped into another fully inflated one sending it into the side wall with a loud

“POP!” and another one got hit just a moment later, by the other deflating balloon,

sending another fully inflated decoy into the ceiling spikes of the cavern.

“POP!” As it resonated through the whole cave. With the noise level being so loud

from all the balloons popping the spikes in the ceiling started to fall. There were

only two balloons left when the spikes started to fall. Another spike broke free on

the other end of popping the only other decoy balloon Shakou was not on. That final

“POP” was loud enough to free more spikes.

Shakou doesn’t see the spike that was above him as he is in a panic, it breaks

free. As he hears the noise of the rock he looks up and tries to maneuver the

balloon out of the way. However Shakou has no such luck as he gets the tail end

caught of his balloon decoy. Sending Shakou flying through the air bouncing off all

the other deflating decoy balloons. Shakou still had time for one more shot as he

was flying by Sesshomaru. He stands up on his deflating balloon and manages to

balance himself. He lines up his shot when another spike falls from the ceiling of

the cavern, this time catching the back of Shakou’s balloon popping it. Thus ending

Shakou’s last shot and ride through the air as he fell to the ground and landing at

Sesshomaru’s feet. Sesshomaru looks down at the beaten wolf; “Well you have

caused me a lot of trouble, but now I’m going to show you what this magical item

can do since it means so much to you.” He said in a sinister voice.

Shakou not able to move after falling from that height.

Sesshomaru – “I think you’ll like it, since you like balloons so much.”
