Alright, bear with me, as I'm very, very sleepy right now.
The story behind this one is that I noticed that the weapon in the current Space Marine Codex called Primarch's Wrath is a Salvo weapon, and thus requires something with Relentless to operate effectively while mobile. I'd already built a very nice model of Kuri in power armor with Primarch's Wrath and a Thunder Hammer, so I was saddened (but thanks to a recent tip over on the other photo, feeling much better about the whole situation.
I'll start the breakdown with the obvious.
Head - "What head?" Precisely. I had to cannibalize the first one to get a head, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. So for this one, I'm gonna wait until I build up the nerve to order some Space Wolf Wolf Helms from an eBay bitz seller. (also, it's been about 5 months since this one was built, so it might not happen any time soon.) I also plan to add Kuri's usual ponytail by clipping off part of a Space Wolf beard and gluing it to the back of the head.
Torso - The torso is made from a Grey Knight Terminator torso. I removed the Psychic Hood part with some clippers and smoothed the edges with a file, to signify that he is not a Librarian. I also had to remove the head from within the torso to make room for when the wolf helm will go in. I totally cannibalized this piece from a Grey Knight Terminator. Removing the torso from the legs was a pain and I couldn't get anywhere near all of it with my clippers.
Legs - I used the legs leftover from when I made my Tauren Terminators. Pretty much unmodified, but one nifty advantage of what happened with the torso was that it provided a layer of plastic that simultaneously made him taller while also providing a somewhat better fit (Grey Knight torsos have a different curve on the bottom than normal Terminator legs do at the waist. Normal Terminators are flatter.
Arms - It's been a while, but I remember feeling stupid about the arms. If I remember right, I removed one of the arms and was in the process of removing the other when I realized that I could use the two-handed glaive pose and just add the hammer head and a length of haft to the other side for balance. I added a piece to his left forearm, a shielded box containing lenses. I like to imagine it's how he calls down an orbital strike. I tried to remove the left shoulderpad's shield thingy at one point, and I did manage to get it off, but it took part of the shoulderpad with it, so I stuck it back on to cover the damage. The right shoulderpad is just a plain, unadorned Terminator pad.
Hammer Weapon - The middle part of the haft, between the hands, is part of the GK arms that hold a glaive in two hands. The head is made from a Nemesis Daemonhammer. The end of the haft was added for visual ballast (and because I have a thing for the long haft of WoW's "Hammer of the Naaru" item), and it came from the same daemonhammer as the head. It was originally longer, but then I realized that the haft was longer than the model was tall, which didn't seem right, so I shortened it.
Gun Weapon - This one I like a lot more than my first attempt at a custom special gun. Lotsa different parts. The ammo bin on the other side of the antenna from the gun was made from a cut-up grenade ammo bin from a Space Marine Scout Biker. The swively bit meant to provide vertical and horizontal rotation is from a Space Marine vehicle Searchlight that's had the back clipped off. The antenna was made from a Scout Biker's bannerpole that had a lot of the antenna clipped off. The main part of the gun is a Grey Knight... I don't remember if it was a Psylencer or a Psycannon. Probably a Psylencer since I think I used up all my Psycannons, but I could be wrong. The muzzle is made from a clipped-up piece of an IG vehicle's heavy stubber, and went through several iterations before I settled on this (one variation involved a Predator's Autocannon muzzle stuck on the end, which was ridiculously huge and would've interfered with sticking on the head.) I also added a scope to the side of the weapon, which I imagine provides the camera view for Kuri's heads-up display inside his helmet, with the gun basically being slaved to either his eye movements, or possibly a neural interface.
Tail - the tail, as usual, is from a Goblin Wolf Rider's wolf from Warhammer Fantasy. (Oddly, buying a box of 10 riders purely for their tails is pretty much the same price as ordering 10 wolves without the riders.)
Base - just a standard GW 40mm round base. Nothing special. That shiny white patch is where some glue got on it, probably when I was first gluing his legs to the base, and just kinda dried weird.
Ultimately, this guy was a quick conversion meant to fulfill a gaming purpose. He turned out pretty decently, and his pose suggests a slow, steady, implacable advance, which is pretty consistent with Terminator armor.
