Time to get back on track!
You decide the best course of action is to pretend to be the watch’dile and simply knock on the door. Clearing your throat, you test out several voices from a safe distance until you finally decide which one sounds closest to the Totodile’s voice.
Clutching tightly to your stolen berry for good luck, you slowly approach the door and knock. Imitating the guard, you knock a second time. “Uh, sir? Captain Tybosa? I need you out on the deck.”
Straining your ears, you can hear the sound of footsteps approaching the door. Your plan is working! …until you hear a small wooden hatch in the door slide open and see a white and black eye staring out at you.
Before you have time to react, the door explodes outward as several rocks burst through the door from the Pokemon’s Ancient Power and collide with your face. Luckily, they don’t hurt as much as a different attack might, but as you recover from your foiled ambush, you look up to see the Captain emerge onto the deck of his ship.
Tybosa sneers and shows off a row of fangs as he stares at you. The mutinous first mate is a Tyrunt with a dark brown hide. Like a stereotypical pirate, a patch covers one eye and a black tri cornered hat rests atop his skull. “Did you really think I’d fall for such a stupid trick? I’ve been expecting that stupid bird to send assassins for days, but I didn’t expect him to hire such worthless help.”
You rub your head with a front paw and groan. Of course he’d have some way to see who was at the door… “Worthless? Do you think a treacherous little lizard has room to hurl insults at anyone?”
The Tyrunt starts to circle you in a predatory fashion. You’re unsure as to what looks more dangerous, his claws or his teeth. Your staredown with the captain is interrupted as the rest of the crew floods the deck of the ship. Any hope of a fair fight just went down the drain.
Tybosa looks at his crew and growls at them. “You lot failed to stop this wretch from getting this far? Worthless, every last one of you! I’ll destroy this fool myself, and anyone who interferes is walking the plank!” The crew mutters amongst itself and stares at the captain. No one steps forward, and all eyes are on you.
“Alright then, you little coward. I’ll give you one chance to run. I do enjoy a good hunt.” Tybosa stares directly into your eyes and licks his lips.
You didn’t think things through this far. You were hoping to knock him out with a surprise attack when he opened the door, but that plan crumbled like dust. So… now what?

Fight. It's simple, really. The crew won't interfere at all, period. Because even if the Tyrunt is about to lose or is even perhaps midway down a Vibrava throat...if they stop it and interfere and then they win...they're still walking the plank. Well, that's how they'd see it.
Running just tires yourself and he'll catch up eventually or you fail your mission. And talking to the crew would be pointless and waste time. Not to mention that if you turn your head to talk to them, you'll get sucker-punched...basically.
Beat him and then ask him what he is if he lost to you and you're "worthless".~
